The Historic Crescent Theater, a 3-story brick building located in the Boroughs square, originally opened for its theatrical business in 1917 and brought almost all the forms of entertainment to town, including vaudevilles, Shakespeare, musicals, modern drama, as well as the first talking cinema to appear in the county. On top of these accolades, The Historic Crescent Theater was the first air conditioned building in the county. Then, for a while, this fine, theatrical center, went into a decline and was not properly utilized. This Sussex County location is not far from both New York and Pennsylvania State borders, drawing performers and audiences from all three states. The Historic Crescent Theater was designed by Paterson, NJ architect Flavio P. Grosso, the Crescent Theatre, also once known as the Sussex, has been a mainstay for almost 109 years and is proud to be the home of Drama Geek Studios. The Historic Crescent Theater is proud to be a 501c3 non-profit organizzation.
